Combining infrastructure expertise with a strong problem-solving mindset, you'll help maintain critical environments, improve operational processes, and deliver infrastructure projects from planning through to execution.

The majority of your work will be based in Mumbai, although occasional travel to other APAC locations may be required.

Key responsibilities include

  • Installing and maintaining cabling, servers, and network equipment across data center locations through:

    • On-site implementation.

    • Remote coordination of smart-hands and service partner personnel.

Managing power and space, including monitoring and capacity planning.

Maintaining a consistent and clean cable management philosophy.

Managing spare parts and cabling inventory.

Performing break-fix repairs to equipment in the data center environment, including replacing hard drives / memory / transceivers and other hardware related tasks, as required by our server and network teams.

Assisting with planning equipment moves or new data center build-outs.

Coordinating the packing, shipping, and logistics of equipment to and from remote colocation sites.

    Maintaining data center documentation.

Working hours will include a combination of

    • Core business hours for planning and monitoring

    • Weekends and out-of-hours work for physical infrastructure changes (with time off provided during the week)

    WHO YOU ARE

As our next Data Centre Engineer, you’ll need to have

    • Attention to detail within a data center.

    • Ability to identify basic parts of network equipment – SFPs, line cards, chassis.

    • Ability to identify basic parts of servers – memory, network card, hard drives, etc.

    • Experience with identifying port locations for specific device manufacturers (Cisco, Arista, Juniper).

    • Knowledge of structured cabling systems using cat 5, cat 6, multi-mode and single-mode fiber.

    • Familiarity with both power and communications cabling standards.

    • Experience configuring and using cable testers, for both fiber and copper, to troubleshoot cabling issues.

    • Ability to perform basic installation, configuration and troubleshooting on server operating systems.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English.

    • An understanding of change control processes.

    • Strong documentation mentality.

    • Strong communication skills (especially with remote engineers whose native language may not be English)..

    • Ability to regularly work on weekends.
